Turkey to increase capital for creating UN bank - ministry

Turkey will increase the capital to create an international technical bank of the United Nations (UN) from $2 million to $8 million, the country’s Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology told Trend Sept. 5.
According to the ministry, the idea of creating international technical bank of the UN in Turkey was put forward by Ankara.
The international technical bank will support the development of technology sector in underdeveloped countries, said the ministry.
Earlier, it was reported that the UN will create an international technical bank, which will be headquartered in Turkey.
It is possible that after the bank’s creation, other countries will also support this financial institution. Other details of the agreement have not been disclosed yet.
