Turkish sources disclose data on incoming Iranian tourists

During Eid al-Adha holiday (Feast of Sacrifice), 32,000 Iranian tourists visited Turkey’s eastern Van province September 1-10, the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB) said in a message.

According to TURSAB’s forecasts, around two million Iranian tourists are expected to visit Turkey by late 2017.

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, Turkey's revenues from tourism increased by 8.7 percent in April-June 2017 and amounted to $5.413 billion compared to the same period of 2016.

The number of foreigners who visited Turkey in June 2017 increased by 43.01 percent compared to the same month of 2016. In June 2017, 3.486 million foreigners visited Turkey, 41,991 of them traveled to other countries through Turkey.

Over six months of 2017, 12.249 million foreign tourists visited Turkey, which is by 14.05 percent more compared to the same period of 2016.

Meanwhile, 25.352 million tourists visited Turkey in 2016, which is by 30 percent less than in 2015.
