How much tourists spent in Azerbaijan in Jan.-June 2017?

The total turnover of the counter services between Azerbaijan and other countries amounted to $6.2 billion in January-June 2017, which is by 8.8 percent more than in January-June 2016, the balance of payments published on the website of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said.

The services worth $4.1 billion were rendered to Azerbaijani residents and legal entities, registered in the country, by non-residents.

The rest of the amount ($2.1 billion) accounted for the counter services rendered by Azerbaijani residents and companies to the residents of other countries.

Thus, 13.9 percent accounted for the transportation services in the balance of counter services. The turnover of transportation services totaled $858 million in January-June 2017.

Foreign tourists and other non-residents spent 48.5 percent of those funds ($416 million) for the use of vehicles in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani residents spent abroad about $442 million for transportation services.

The turnover of counter tourism services amounted to around $2.5 billion in January-June 2017.

Foreign tourists spent $1.3 billion in Azerbaijan in the reporting period.

The tourism services worth $1.2 billion were rendered to Azerbaijani citizens in foreign countries, 72.4 percent of which account for Azerbaijani citizens’ expenses as part of personal trips.

In the reporting period, the cost of construction services rendered by non-residents in the non-oil sector decreased by 60.5 percent up to $31 million.
