Surplus in Azerbaijan’s secondary income operations grows

Individuals transferred $456 million to Azerbaijan from foreign countries in January-June 2017, which is 1.5 times more than in the same period last year, reads the balance of payments for 1H17, posted on the website of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

In the first half of 2016, individuals transferred $298.56 million to Azerbaijan from foreign countries.

The money transferred by individuals to Azerbaijan in January-June 2017 accounted for 93.1 percent of the total income from secondary operations.

During the period, secondary income transactions worth $687 million were carried out by Azerbaijan with foreign countries, which is 11.3 percent more than in the first half of 2016. Some 71.3 percent of them accounted for Azerbaijan’s proceeds.

A surplus was formed in Azerbaijan’s secondary income operations, which amounted to $293 million.
