Companies opened in Turkey greatly outnumber liquidated ones

In August 2017, 6,593 companies were registered in Turkey, which is 26.91 percent more compared to the figure for July, said a report of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Sept. 18.

According to the report, 1,218 companies were closed in Turkey in August, which is 11.74 percent more compared to the figure for July.

In the meantime, 644 joint companies with foreign share were created in Turkey in August. This figure includes 72 Turkish-Syrian and 52 Turkish-Saudi companies.

Over eight months of this year, 48,000 companies were registered in Turkey, which is a 8.43 percent growth compared to the same period last year, according to the TOBB.

“Over eight months of this year, 8,206 companies were closed in Turkey, which is 27.88 percent more than the number of companies closed a year earlier,” the TOBB report said.

It should be noted that 63,700 companies were registered and 11,300 companies were closed in 2016 in Turkey.
