Construction of the biggest Port of Filyos in the Zonguldak Province in the north of Turkey has been completed by 34 percent, a source in the country’s Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications told Trend Sept. 20.
The source noted that the Filyos Port, the construction of which started in December 2016 and will end in 2019, will become one of the biggest harbors and the most important logistics centers of Turkey.
After the construction is finished, it is also planned to build a railway to the port, and this will foster acceleration of cargo transportations. The source added that the Filyos Port is designed for annual transportation of 25 million tons of cargo.
