Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan keen to increase trade turnover

Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Economy Artem Novikov and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Economic Affairs Elyor Ganiyev discussed the prospects of further development of trade relations, cooperation in transportation, communication, investment and industry.
The officials also touched upon the agenda of the upcoming high level events, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said in a message Sept. 27.
The ministers also discussed the implementation of agreements concluded during the visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan in September.
A joint Uzbek-Kyrgyz business forum and an exhibition of commodity producers from both countries, planned to be held in Tashkent, were also on the agenda of the meeting.
Both events will be held amid the forthcoming visit of President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev to Uzbekistan.
The parties agreed to create joint ventures and discussed practical steps to increase trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
