By Ali Mustafayev – Trend:

Uzbekistan is implementing a set of measures to transform all the country's farms into multi-profile type.

The process goes under the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s decree. The decree obliges all the farmers of the country to conform to the new terms of land use during 2018-2021, the press service of Uzbek president said in a message.

The land lease agreements with the farmers that don't use their lands within the adopted framework will be terminated from January 1, 2022.

Moreover, the farmers that inefficiently use the allocated lands, without timely implementation of agro-technical measures, will be deprived of using them.

Such measures are being implemented due to serious problems in country’s farm industry. In particular, more than 480,000 hectares of land plots owned by the citizens are currently being inefficiently used.

The government of Uzbekistan intends to realize a full inventory of all the cultivated areas belonging to the landowners by October 1, 2018. A single registry will be created to effectively allocate and manage the territories.
