Uzbekistan’s new cement plant, Karakalpak Cement LLC, started selling cement in the country’s stock market, the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (UZEX) said in a message Oct. 18.
Karakalpak Cement LLC is located in the Karauzak region of Uzbekistan’s Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The design capacity of the plant is 1.2 million tons per year and the total cost of the project is $40 million.
The first transaction on the sale of cement by Karakalpak Cement LLC was held Oct. 11, 2017.
Karakalpak Cement LLC sold 160 tons of cement at a price of 375,000 Uzbek soums ($46.53 as of Oct. 18) per ton at the UZEX.
