Azerbaijan increases export to Georgia by over 30%

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia amounted to $567.07 million in January-September 2017, which is 36.6 percent more than in the same period of 2016, reads a report of Georgia’s National Statistics Office.
According to the report, Azerbaijan ranks fourth among Georgia’s foreign trade partners, with a specific weight of 7.5 percent. Meanwhile, Turkey ($1.12 billion or specific weight of 14.8 percent) ranks first and is followed by Russia ($806.27 million or 10.7 percent) and China ($640.64 million or 8.5 percent).
Azerbaijan ranks second among importers of goods from Georgia. The goods delivery from Georgia to Azerbaijan increased by 79.8 percent to $167.79 million in January-September 2017. Azerbaijan’s share in the Georgian export operations went up from 6.2 to 8.6 percent.
Azerbaijan ranks fourth among suppliers of goods to Georgia –$399.28 million (with a share of 7.1 percent as compared to 5.9 percent a year before). During the year, the export of Azerbaijani goods to Georgia has increased by 30.2 percent.
