Azerbaijan plans to allocate 16.05 million manats from the state budget in 2018 to finance the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance, according to the conclusion of the country’s Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FIMSA) on the “On state budget of Azerbaijan for 2018” bill.

This is 7.72 million manats or 32.5 percent less than the amount allocated to the State Agency in 2017. This year, the State Agency received more than 23.77 million manats from the state budget.

The reason for funding cuts - 10 million manats of the funds allocated for the State Agency in 2017 were intended for software, while these expenditures are not envisaged for 2018.

Of the amount to be allocated for the State Agency in 2018, 12 million manats is planned to be spent on implementation of the project of mandatory medical insurance in Mingachevir city and Yevlakh district of Azerbaijan.

The remaining 4.05 million manats will cover the State Agency’s personnel expenses.
