Turkey, Iran, Qatar to sign cargo transportation agreement

Turkey, Iran and Qatar will sign an agreement on cargo transportation, the Turkish Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications told Trend Nov. 8.

Earlier, the transport ministers of the three countries discussed the preliminary details of the agreement.

"The agreement will be signed in the coming months by the ministers of transport of the three countries," the Turkish ministry said.

After the signing of the agreement, sea route across the Persian Gulf will be used to supply cargoes to Qatar. It will also be possible to increase the trade potential of the three countries and supply humanitarian goods to Qatar.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE announced about breaking their diplomatic relations with Qatar June 5, accusing Doha of supporting terrorist organizations and destabilizing the situation in the Middle East.

Later, the authorities of Libya, Yemen, the Maldives and Mauritius also announced about severing diplomatic relations with Qatar.
