Company from Singapore conducting seismic survey in Turkmenistan

In the near future, Yug-Neftegaz Private Limited (Singapore) company will provide the Turkmengeology state corporation with a preliminary report on the results of seismic survey on the Northern Goturdepe area, Nebit-Gaz, online newspaper of the country’s Oil and Gas Complex, reported Nov. 9.

2D and 3D seismic surveys are conducted in the west of Turkmenistan, within the Goturdepe, Barsagelmes and Darja areas. The operations are carried out both onshore and in the shallow part of the Caspian Sea.

“Implementation of the joint work will further enhance the efficiency of geological exploration of oil and gas, and strengthen the mineral and raw materials base of Turkmenistan,” said the report.

Yug-Neftegaz signed a contract with Turkmengeology state corporation in November 2014. 3D seismic survey was carried out on a total area of ​​420 square kilometers within the contract. The company started the work at the Barsagelmes field, where 3D seismic survey will cover 345 square kilometers.

The 2D seismic survey at the Darja field will cover 870 linear kilometers.
