Azerbaijan invites Brazilian businessmen to invest in industrial and agricultural parks of the country, as well as jointly produce agricultural products, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev said.

Mustafayev made the remarks at a meeting with Brazilian Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira, who is on a visit to Baku, the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry reported Nov. 15.

Mustafayev added that Azerbaijan and Brazil could develop economic ties up to the level of political ties.

The Azerbaijani minister said that both countries could establish cooperation in the fields of agriculture, trade, investment, tourism, ICT, energy and others.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Brazil increased by 5 percent in January-September 2017 compared to the same period of 2016.

For further development of mutual trade, Mustafayev called for determining the list of products having export potential.

Mustafayev also added that a delegation of local businessmen will visit Brazil in March 2018.

The Brazilian minister stressed that the necessary conditions for expanding economic ties between the two countries have already been formed, but there is a need to expand and simplify the legal framework.

Ferreira stressed that Brazil is interested in Azerbaijani investments.
