Azerbaijan’s non-oil economy up by over 2%

The volume of Azerbaijan’s GDP totaled over 56.48 billion manats in January-October 2017, which is 0.7 percent less than in the same period of 2016, according to a report of the country’s State Statistics Committee.

The GDP per capita amounted to almost 5,800 manats.

The volume of Azerbaijan’s GDP in non-oil sector increased by 2.1 percent in January-October 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016. Meanwhile, a decline by 6 percent was observed in the oil and gas sector during the period.

Thus, 40.2 percent (22.7 billion manats) of Azerbaijan’s GDP accounted for industrial sphere, 8.8 percent (5 billion manats) – for construction, 5.8 percent (3.25 billion manats) – for agriculture, forestry and fishery.

Net taxes on production and import accounted for 7.3 percent of Azerbaijan’s GDP.

According to the report, 10.2 percent of the GDP (5.8 billion manats), produced in the service sector, accounted for trade and maintenance of vehicles, 6.9 percent (3.88 billion manats) – for transport and warehousing, 2.4 percent (1.37 billion manats) – for accommodation of tourists and catering, 1.7 percent (934.4 million manats) – for information and communication services, 16.7 percent (9.44 billion manats) – for other services.
