Gold production in Kazakhstan increases

The volume of rough gold production amounted to 70,248 kg in January-October 2017 in Kazakhstan, which is 15.5 percent more than in the same period of the previous year, the Ministry of Economy of Kazakhstan said in a message.

The volume of rough silver production, in turn decreased, amounting to 870,911 kg, which is 12.8 percent less than in January-October last year, according to the ministry.

The largest amount of gold was produced in Kazakhstan’s Akmola, East Kazakhstan regions and Astana city. The level of gold production in Kazakhstan increases each year since 2014, when the country produced 47,800 kg of gold.

Previously, experts estimated that the level of gold production in Kazakhstan will remain stable, during 20 years, despite the World Gold Council’s forecast regarding the worldwide decline of gold production in 2019.
