Turkmenistan has harvested great volumes of rice this year in the country's Dashoguz province, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported Nov. 17.
To date, about 39,000 tons of rice have been collected from an area of 8,100 hectares, which is much higher than it was planned, according to the report.
A facility located in the country’s Turkmenbashi district has started processing the rice grains, the report said. The facility is able to supply consumers in the country with up to 30,000 tons of the agricultural product per year.
Equipment from Japan is used at the facility. Both motor and railway transport are used for reception of grain for storage and shipment of finished products.
