As part of the visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea, Uzavtosanoat JSC has reached an agreement on organization of the serial production of a new passenger car Tracker, a modernized model of Cobalt, as well as motorcycles and scooters.
This was announced by a press center covering the visit of the president.
The agreements provide for organization of a serial production of a compact SUV "Chevrolet Tracker" of a new generation. Production will be carried out on a full technological cycle (stamping, welding, painting, assembly), while the level of localization of the car will be more than 50 percent.
Furthermore, the agreement provides for the renewal of the car "Cobalt", which will increase the attractiveness of the model, both on the domestic and foreign markets and contribute to an increase in production and export capacity of the "Alliance GM Uzbekistan".
Production of both models will be set up on the basis of the Asaka automobile plant with the launch of mass production in 2019.
In addition, Uzavtosanoat JSC and the Korean company DK Group reached an agreement on the organization of production of motorcycles and three-wheeled cargo scooters. Motorcycles and scooters will be presented in an affordable price segment and meet needs of the population living in remote and inaccessible regions, in the movement and transportation of goods.
In total, during the high-level visit to Korea, Uzavtosanoat signed seven agreements for a total of $ 189.9 million, as well as contracts in the trade and economic field for more than $614 million.
