Azerbaijan and the European Union have inked the indicative maps of the Trans-European transport network, Spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Hikmat Hajiyev told Trend.
The document was undersigned by Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan in Brussels Nov.24.
The Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) is a network which comprises roads, railway lines, inland waterways, inland and maritime ports, airports and rail-road terminals throughout the EU Member States.
This characteristic is a key factor for the network's efficient, safe and secure operation, using seamless transport chains for passengers and freight. It builds on existing and planned infrastructure in these States which has been identified on the basis of a single methodology and which has to comply with common requirements/standards.
