The ninth meeting of the Turkmen-Austrian joint commission and business forum will be held in Ashgabat on December 4-5, the Turkmen Dovlet Habarlary state news agency reported.
From the Austrian side, representatives of 24 state institutions and companies specializing in energy, machine building, agriculture, construction industry, transportation, healthcare, tourism, education and computer technologies are expected to attend the events.
Reportedly, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at a government meeting that business negotiations with European partners are aimed at strengthening trade and economic ties.
Earlier, it was reported that Austria is interested in buying local textiles. This industry is developing in Turkmenistan on basis of growing domestic cotton processing. Austria is studying projects on processing of agricultural products and food production.
Meanwhile, construction, healthcare and tourism are among priorities in the two countries’ cooperation. Turkmenistan and Austria regularly hold business forums, and companies such as WOMA GmbH, Schoeller Bleckmann AG, Unger Stahlbau GmbH, Schrack Seconet AG, Oswelt GmbH, AME International, Landhof, Schlafhorst, Truetzschler, Uster, Strabag SE are interested in the Turkmen market.
