An American multinational conglomerate providing commercial and consumer goods, engineering services, and aerospace systems commended multinational transportation company AsstrA Associated Traffic AG for handling an unusual challenge promptly and efficiently.
AsstrA’s client wished to transport cargo in 35 trucks from Reggio Calabria in Italy to Samarkand in Uzbekistan. After analyzing the route, AsstrA agreed to complete the delivery and began work. After working hours the next day, the client made an urgent call to request accelerated loading and completion of delivery within 1 week, due to financial concerns involving a bill of credit.
“After receiving this special request, it took us 1.5 days to source all 35 trucks required to deliver the load from Southern Italy to Uzbekistan. Usually, there are no available trucks in the 89th zone, so it is necessary to bring in trucks from Northern or Central Italy, even it involves traveling over 1200 km. Also, import permissions for Uzbekistan have usually been exhausted towards the end of the year, and finding trucks headed there can be difficult. We received the challenging request late at night, but the next morning were still able to confirm the loading of all the trucks brought in from other regions of Italy,” relates Natasha Shemyakina, Italy Country Manager at AsstrA Associated Traffic AG.
