Austrian business circles show interest in private sector of Turkmen economy

A Turkmen-Austrian business forum was held in Ashgabat, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a message Dec. 4.

"The Austrian delegation’s representatives expressed a special interest of Austrian business circles in intensifying productive ties with the private sector of the Turkmen economy," the message said.

The Austrian delegation includes representatives of a number of state institutions and more than 20 companies specializing in trade, healthcare, agriculture, transport, logistics, energy, machine building, engineering, construction, tourism and other spheres.

The heads and specialists of sectoral ministries and departments, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs attended the forum from the Turkmen side.

Earlier, it was reported that Austria was interested in purchase of local textile goods. Austria is reviewing the food production projects.

The possibility of participation in projects on construction of cattle-breeding complexes in Turkmenistan, supplies of equipment for the production of meat and dairy products is being considered.

Among the priorities are also construction, health and tourism.

Such companies as WOMA GmbH, Schoeller Bleckmann AG, Unger Stahlbau GmbH, Schrack Seconet AG, Oswelt GmbH, AME Interhational, Landhof, Schlafhorst, Truetzschler, Uster, Strabag SE are interested in the Turkmen market.
