By 2021 it is planned to produce some 600,000 tons of potassium chloride at the Dehkanabad potash fertilizer plant of Uzbekistan.

Compared to today’s volumes, the mentioned figure would be 2.1 times higher.

Meanwhile, it is planned to increase the production volume to 314,000 tons, and the following year - up to 380,000 tons.

Until 2021, the Dehkanabad plant is expected to implement an investment project for the production of granular potassium chloride in the amount of 180,000 tons per year with an investment of $15 million.

Fertilization makes it possible to slow the absorption of soil-fertilizing substances, which gives prolongation of the fertilizing process.

In the next three years, the plant is also planning to start the production of potassium sulfate. This fertilizer contains more than 50 percent of potassium, about 18 percent of sulfur, and also magnesium, calcium and other elements.

This in particular contributes to increase of sugar in fruits, increasing their disease resistance. Potassium sulphate is used, both as agrofertilizer, and for other purposes.

Another investment project for the development until 2021 - the production of iron coarse, used as an addition in fertilizers. Planned volumes - up to 2500 tons per year.

In general, within the framework of the Program for the Development of the Chemical Industry of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021, 43 projects are planned for implementation, worth $3.1 billion.

It is expected that this will give an increase in the volume of production of commodity products of the chemical industry by 2.4 times, exports - 2.7 times.
