Prices for goods and services increased in Uzbekistan

Consumer prices for goods and services increased by an average of 2 percent in Uzbekistan in November 2017, reads a report by the press service of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

In particular, the prices for food products increased by 1.5 percent, non-food products - by 3.4 percent and services - by 0.5 percent.

The prices for fruit and vegetable products was formed under the influence of the seasonal factor. The prices for fresh tomatoes and cucumbers recorded the highest growth - by 60.6 and 54.0 percent respectively, grapes - by 19.8, apples - by 14.1 percent.

Along with this, the prices for carrot decreased by 17.2 percent, onion - by 13.9, cabbage - by 12.9, potatoes - by 1.1 percent.

Prices for non-food products in November rose by 3.4 percent, which led to an increase in the consumer price index (CPI) by 1.2 percentage points.

The main growth is due to the entry into force of new gasoline prices (an increase of 39.7 percent on average), which ensured the growth of the CPI by 0.5 percentage points. (the share of influence on the consolidated CPI is 26.5 percent).

In the sphere of paid services, tariffs for the population increased by only 0.5 percent in November. This led to an increase in the consolidated CPI by 0.1 pp.

The main inflation factors in this area were the increase in tariffs for household services - by 2 percent and the cost of training in foreign language courses by 2.2 percent.
