Kazakhstan's int'l reserves down, gold assets increase

The international reserves of Kazakhstan have decreased by 2.54 percent since Jan. 2017, amounting to $88.4 billion by Nov. of the same year, the National Bank of Kazakhstan said in a message.

Meanwhile, the reserves did increase by 0.57 percent in November, compared to October.

The volume of Kazakhstan's gross international reserves decreased by 0.19 percent, amounting to $31.4 billion in November, compared to October. The net international reserves decreased by 0.2 percent, amounting to $30.9 billion.

This is while the gross international reserves increased by 6.43 percent in January-November, and net international reserves increased by 6.6 in the same time frame.

The volume of assets of the National Fund of Kazakhstan amounted to $57 billion, increasing by 0.99 percent (in January-November - decreased by 6.87 percent).

The volume of assets in freely convertible currency amounted to $19.2 billion, decreasing by 1.47 percent over the last month (since the beginning of the year it decreased by 3.38 percent).

The volume of assets in gold increased by 1.89 percent (and by 26.74 percent in 11 months of 2017), amounting to $12.1 billion.
