Inflation reduction rates in Azerbaijan in 2017-2018 will be the highest among the CIS member countries and Georgia, according to the “World Economic Situation and Prospects 2018” report prepared by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
In 2017, inflation rate in Azerbaijan will be 12 percent, but already in 2018, it will drop sharply to 5.9 percent, according to the report. In 2018, the inflation rate in Azerbaijan will slightly increase and amount to 7.5 percent, the report said.
In the rest countries of the region - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Ukraine - inflation reduction rates will be about 0.3-3 percentage points. In other countries of the region, in particular, Armenia, Turkmenistan and Russia, inflation is forecasted to grow.
