Pharmaceutical production increased by 2.5 times up to 1.18 million manats in Azerbaijan in January-November 2017 compared to the same period of last year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said in a report.
According to the report, among the medicines produced in the country, about 69,100 manats accounted for antibiotics. The rest part accounted for other types of medicines.
The pharmaceutical production volume increased in Azerbaijan in August 2016. The pharmaceutical development averaged 15-20 percent within the next seven months. The pharmaceutical production has increased by 2-3 times since March 2017.
According to the forecasts of the Azerbaijani government, pharmaceutical products worth 1.5 million manats will be produced by the end of this year. However, the production volumes will grow in future and reach almost 90 million manats in 2021.
