A new glass plant has started operating in a test mode in the Akhal region of Turkmenistan, the Altyn Asyr TV channel reported Dec. 16.
The project was implemented within the framework of Turkmen state programs on import substitution and manufacture of export-oriented products. Production of float glass is one of industrial innovations for Turkmenistan.
Earlier, it was reported that Turkey’s Tepe Turkmen Insaat ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi is building a glass plant in the Ovadandepe area of Turkmenistan’s Akhal region.
The plant will be producing transparent and toned, laminated and toughened glass for the manufacture of windows and double-glazed windows, a variety of bottles for the food industry and medical industry, as well as other glass products.
