Investments in Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector revealed

Some 13.69 billion manats were invested in the development of economic and social spheres of Azerbaijan in January-November 2017, which is by 2.8 percent less than in the same period of 2016, says a report of the country’s State Statistics Committee.

The report says that 77 percent of the total investments were put in the construction of production facilities, 17.1 percent – in the construction of non-production facilities and 5.9 percent – in the construction of housing.

About 42.2 percent of the total investments accounted for the domestic investments, according to the report.

The main sources of investments in January-November 2017 are as follows: funds of enterprises and organizations – nearly 8.98 billion manats (65.6 percent of the total investments); bank loans –1.74 billion manats (12.7 percent); budgetary funds – 1.93 billion manats (14.1 percent); off-budgetary funds – 189.8 million manats (1.4 percent); funds of population – 740.9 million manats (5.4 percent) and other funds – 102.9 million manats.

Some 44.2 percent (6.05 billion manats) of the funds invested in the fixed capital accounted for the development of the non-oil sector, while 7.64 billion manats (55.8 percent) – for oil sector of the country.

According to the report, 64.5 percent of investments accounted for industrial spheres, 16.2 percent - for construction, 10.9 percent - for transport and warehousing, 2.3 percent - for agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2.1 percent - for public administration, protection and compulsory social security, 1.1 percent - for information and communication, 0.8 percent - for healthcare, 0.6 percent - for education, 0.5 percent - for leisure and activities in entertainment and arts sphere, 0.4 percent - for trade and 0.4 percent - for rendering administrative and auxiliary services, 0.2 percent - for accommodation of tourists and public catering.
