ICD eyes to mull new projects in Azerbaijan

Representatives of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) expect to discuss a cooperation plan with Azerbaijan for 2018 in Baku, a source in the country’s government told Trend Dec. 18.

To this end, an ICD mission headed by Okan Altasli, regional offices director at ICD, is in Baku. The delegation will stay in Baku until Dec. 19 and hold meetings with its partners in the private and public sectors.

In particular, the delegation’s meetings in the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the country’s Financial Market Supervisory Authority, as well as with the leadership of private banks and companies are expected, according to the source.

“The ICD representatives also plan to discuss the general state of Azerbaijan’s economy and the possibility of implementing new projects with the government of the country,” the source said.

As for the private sector, some local banks and companies of Azerbaijan have requested loans from the ICD for various projects, the source noted.

The delegation will get acquainted with the proposals of these banks and companies, as well as consider projects for the implementation of which loans may be allocated, the source added.

The ICD was created in 1999 and has been operating in Azerbaijan since 2003.
