Surplus in Azerbaijan’s secondary income operations grows

Individuals transferred $725.5 million to Azerbaijan from foreign countries in January-September 2017, which is 1.7 times more than in the same period last year, reads the balance of payments for nine months of 2017, posted on the website of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

In January-September 2016, individuals transferred $426.76 million to Azerbaijan from foreign countries.

The money transferred by individuals to Azerbaijan in January-September 2017 accounted for 90.6 percent of the total income from secondary operations.

During the period, secondary income transactions worth $1.1 billion were carried out by Azerbaijan with foreign countries, which is nearly 22 percent more than in January-September 2016. Some $801 million of them accounted for Azerbaijan’s proceeds.

A surplus was formed in Azerbaijan’s secondary income operations, which amounted to $477.2 million.
