Azerbaijan reveals its non-oil export revenues

Azerbaijani companies exported non-oil goods worth $168 million in November 2017, according to the Export Review, published by the Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication on Dec. 18.

According to the Center, 442 local companies participated in export operations during the month.

Excluding oil and gas, Azerbaijan mainly exported persimmon ($39.7 million), gold ($17.9 million), peeled hazelnuts ($16.1 million), tomatoes ($8.7 million) polyethylene ($7 million) and apples ($5.6 million) in November 2017.

A major part of the Azerbaijani products were exported to Russia ($74 million), Turkey ($21 million), Switzerland ($18 million), Georgia ($12 million) and Italy ($9 million).

In total, Azerbaijan exported non-oil goods worth $1.387 billion in January-November 2017 and 1,824 companies took part in export operations.

The main non-oil product exported abroad were tomatoes during the period. Azerbaijan exported tomatoes worth $140.2 million, which is followed by gold ($116.4 million), peeled hazelnuts ($105 million), persimmon ($70 million), polyethylene ($66.4 million) and electricity ($41.4 million) in January-November 2017.

Russia ranks first among importers of Azerbaijan’s non-oil products. In the period, goods worth $498 million were exported to Russia, which is followed by Turkey ($264 million), Switzerland ($133 million), Georgia ($120 million) and Italy ($52 million).
