Uzbek population starts using bank cards more actively

Total volume of mandatory payments through the clearing system of settlements of Uzbekistan’s Central Bank increased by 2.1 times in November 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016 and amounted to 586.9 billion soums, the Central Bank told Trend.

The aggregate volume includes the total volume of payments of the population for all types of public services through the Central Bank’s clearing system, conducted with the help of bank cards in November 2017, said the bank.

The number of transactions amounted to 4.4 million in November 2017 that is 1.9 times more than in November of 2015, and the average value of operations increased from 119,000 for one operation up to 133,200 soums.

In total, 31 million transactions, with a total volume of 4.1 trillion soums, were made through the Central Bank’s clearing system in January-November 2017 that is 2.2 times more than in the same period of 2016.
