Uzbekistan's exports increase, regain lost positions

Exports of goods and services increased by 15.4 percent and amounted to $13.954 billion in Uzbekistan in 2017 as compared to 2016, against a decrease of 5.6 percent in the previous year, the country’s Ministry for Foreign Trade told Trend.

A major part of the exports accounted for services – 25.1 percent, including transportation services – 11.5 percent (26.3 percent – in 2016), energy resources and oil products – 14.2 percent (14.1 percent), ferrous and non-ferrous metals – 6.6 percent (5.8 percent).

Exports of services increased by 12.3 percent to $3.5 billion, energy resources and oil products – by 15.5 percent to $1.98 billion, ferrous and non-ferrous metals – by 29.5 percent to $918 million in 2017.

Moreover, exports of food products rose by 26.1 percent to $876 million, chemical products and products – by 5 percent to $883 million, cotton fiber – decreased by 25.2 percent to $477 million, machines and equipment – increased by 1.6 times up to $353 million in the period.
