Turkey to implement new railway project in Ankara

The railway connecting the Esenboga Airport with the center of Ankara will be extended by 12 kilometers, a source in the Ministry of Transport, Maritime and Communications of Turkey told Trend Jan. 16.

The source said that earlier the railway from Esenboga to Ankara's center was planned at a length of 36 kilometers.

Changes will also be made to the railway’s route, according to the source.

Earlier, it was reported that the Sabiha Gokcen International Airport as well as Istanbul’s third airport will be connected to the city center via a high-speed railway.

The project’s implementation is expected to start in the next two years and to be completed by 2023.
