GM Uzbekistan launched deliveries of Chevrolet Spark cars to the markets of the Middle East, the company said in a message on Jan.24.
The supply to the markets of the Middle East countries is organized as part of the strategy to expand the geography of exports and enter new markets.
GM Uzbekistan shipped the first shipment of Chevrolet Spark cars to Lebanon and Jordan on Jan.23. By the end of this year, it is planned to ship at least 500 cars to these countries.
Also, the export of Chevrolet Spark cars to Tunis is being finalized.
The production of cars by General Motors Uzbekistan Ltd decreased by 7.4 percent in 2017 and amounted to more than 82,000, whereas in 2016, the production decreased by 52.5 percent, and in 2015 – by 24.5 percent.
GM Uzbekistan is a joint venture owned by Uzbek UzAvtosanoat (75 percent) and American General Motors (25 percent). Currently, the company produce 10 models of cars under the brands Chevrolet and Ravon.
