TRACECA member countries plan to restore practice of holding of investment forums, TRACECA Secretary General Mircea Ciopraga said in Baku on March 13, speaking at the international conference of the Silk Road Support Group of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
He further noted that negotiations continue on joining of new countries the TRACECA Basic Multilateral Agreement.
"We are interested in expanding geography, particularly in the South-East Asia region. Given the effectiveness of the investment forums held earlier, TRACECA countries decided to restore this practice, and the next investment forum will be held in Bucharest in 2019," Ciopraga said.
The last TRACECA investment forum was held in Brussels in 2012.
TRACECA is an international program of cooperation in the field of transport between the EU and partner countries in Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia. The organization has a permanent secretariat in Baku.
