Manufacturers of textile products of Uzbekistan will open new production facilities in Tajikistan, Uzbek media outlets reported.

Given the high demand for consumer goods in Tajikistan, the two countries concluded agreements on the supply of knitted fabrics from Uzbekistan, with further opening of sewing shops in Tajikistan, and the creation of new enterprises.

Business communities of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan also participated in a business forum held in Dushanbe, where the interested persons and organizations of Tajikistan concluded agreements with Uzbek textile companies.

The agreements were also signed between Buka Boxing Sportswear LLC and the Boxing Federation of Dushanbe, as well as Avazkhon Kelajak Textile Service LLC and SOHTMON M-21 LLC.

In 2017 bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan amounted to $236.8 million, which is 20.2 percent more than in 2016. Presently, there are 22 enterprises with the participation of Tajik capital, functioning in Uzbekistan.
