About 45% of Azerbaijan’s foreign trade accounts for 5 countries

Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with five main trade partners reached 2.48 billion manats in January-March 2018, which accounts for 44.8 percent of all volume of the country’s trade turnover, said a report of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee April 13.

In January-March 2018, Italy ranked first in the list of Azerbaijan’s foreign trading partners with a trade turnover of $718.12 million and a specific weight of 12.95 percent. Italy is followed by Turkey - $573.10 million (10.33 percent), Russia – $497.59 million (8.97 percent), Germany – $380.42 million (6.86 percent) and Israel – $314.91 million (5.68 percent).

Italy remains leader for consumption of Azerbaijani goods in January-March 2018. The country accounted for $645.62 million (19.24 percent) of Azerbaijan’s total export volume.

Italy is followed by Israel - $308.22 million (9.19 percent), Turkey - $260.71 million (7.77 percent), Czech Republic - $207.71 million (6.19 percent) and Indonesia - $200.31 million (5.97 percent). The share of these countries in total export volume of Azerbaijan is 48.36 percent.

In January-March 2018, Azerbaijan imported goods worth nearly $380 million (17.34 percent) from Russia. Russia ranked first for this indicator and was followed by Turkey - $312.39 million (14.26 percent), China - $219.56 million (about 10 percent), Germany - $193.06 million (8.81 percent) and the US- $104.57 million (4.77 percent). The share of these countries in total import volume of Azerbaijan is 55.2 percent.

In January-March 2018, Azerbaijan exported goods worth $3.35 billion, which is 28.73 percent more than in the same period last year. In January-March 2018, imports amounted to $2.19 billion, which is 44.84 percent more than in January-March 2017. The surplus in January-March 2018 amounted to $1.16 billion, which is 6.44 percent more than in January-March 2017.
