Azerbaijan exported goods worth $3.35 billion in January-March 2018 that is by 28.73 percent more than in the same period last year, according to a report of the country’s State Customs Committee.
The share of state sector in export totaled $2.94 billion, private sector – $403 million, individuals – $9.9 million.
Azerbaijan mainly exported oil and oil products, gas, fruits and vegetable, plastic and plastic products in January-March 2018.

During the period, import totaled $2.19 billion, which is 44.84 percent more than in January-March 2017. Some $390 million accounted for the state sector share in import operations, and $1.66 billion – for the private sector, $132.42 million – for individuals.
Azerbaijan mainly imported various machines, food products, ferrous metals, vehicles and spare parts, plastic and plastic products during the reporting period.

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade operations increased by 34.65 percent and amounted to $5.54 billion in January-March 2018, as compared to January-March 2017. The surplus in the reporting period amounted to $1.16 billion, which is 6.44 percent more than in the same period last year.
