Aybarus Ltd., one of the largest Russian wholesale companies, specializing in export and import operations, considers widescale reforms in Uzbekistan as an important factor for the company’s decision to enter the fruit and vegetable market of the country, Head of the Aybarus Retail Department Maksim Dontsov told Trend on April 16.

According to him, the company plans to establish supply of a wide range of fruit and vegetable products in both directions, as well as export of exotic fruits, such as mango, avocado, kiwi etc., from Thailand to Uzbekistan.

Aybarus representative also said that even though the widescale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan and the general improvement of the business climate played a vital role in the company’s decision to enter the Uzbek fruit and vegetable market, it is too early to talk about any certain effects due to the cooperation being in its very establishment phase.

Dontsov also noted that the company is not a trailblazer in Uzbekistan, but the current level of cooperation between the two countries is unsatisfactory and much work must be carried out.

Earlier, the Aybarus Ltd. announced that it is planning to enter the Uzbek fruit and vegetable market.

Representatives of the Aybarus Ltd. and four more Russian companies visited Tashkent to present their products and capacities within a specially organized Russian exposition at the WorldFood Uzbekistan 2018 international exhibition. The Russian stand was organized by the Council of Foreign Trade Development and International Economic Relations.
