Azerbaijan's AccessBank seeks further development of the digital banking, Executive Director of Digital Banking in AccessBank Sabina Gurbanova said at the 1st International Banking Exhibition and Conference, titled "Digital Banking and Security" in Baku on April 17.
AccessBank timely invested in its IT infrastructure in recent years in order to be aligned with innovations in the banking sector, according to Gurbanova.
"As one of the leading banks in digital banking area, today our bank offers different innovative solutions to clients via its competitive internet and mobile banking solution - myAccess. If we compare the number of non-cash payments processed through myAccess and branches, more than 70 percent of transactions happen online," she said.
Gurbanova stressed that banks have to improve their online channels and self-service capabilities for customers.
Banks are working on expansion of self-services, which is also very important for cost saving, she added.
"According to McKinsey benchmarks, the transactions shifted to digital channels have 20-25 percent lower costs compared to traditional banking. Although not all the citizens are open to online services, certainly their convenience and safety will change clients’ behavior and encourage them to shift to online banking," Gurbanova said.
