It is necessary to increase the fertility of cultivated lands in Azerbaijan, Ali Alizadeh, President of Agro Bio Eco Tech Company, operating in the field of environmentally friendly agricultural production, believes.
In an interview with Trend, Alizadeh noted that in this regard, it is necessary to increase the production of organic fertilizers in Azerbaijan.
"Today, our company produces 5,000-7,000 tons of organic and mineral fertilizers per year, which does not even cover the demand in the domestic market. The country needs large volumes,” Alizade said.
According to him, increasing the fertility of the land, in turn, will help to increase productivity.
"Sometimes, farmers cannot collect the maximum amount of harvest from cultivated land due to soil conditions. The soil must be restored, and this requires organic fertilizers. This is a common global practice," Alizade added.
In this context, he noted that Agro Bio Eco Tech Company intends to increase the output of biological preparations necessary for production of organic fertilizers.
"Azerbaijan is preparing a state program to increase the production of organic fertilizers, which includes the use of household and agricultural waste for production of organic fertilizers. We plan to increase the production of biological preparations that will decompose these wastes and turn them into fertilizers. These drugs are made from strains of bacteria. We expect that a new laboratory for the production of microorganisms will be built by June," Alizade said.
