By Ali Mustafayev - Trend:

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) proposed Russia to grant temporary residence status to workers and members of their families from other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), the EEC press service said in a message.

The EEC has also taken the initiative to enable citizens in the EEU member states to change the stated purpose of entry for an employment contract, member of the Board for Economic and Financial Policy of the EEC Timur Zhaksylykov said at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Migration Bodies (CHMB) of the CIS member states held in Almaty.

Zhaksylykov stated that one of the main factors in formation of a favorable business climate in the EEU states is the creation of a common labor market.

He added that, at the same time, there are a number of unresolved issues that the Commission is working on at the moment.

“We also consider the issue of complexity of the migration registration procedure at the place of stay in Russia, as well as, the necessity to re-register after every departure from the territory of Russia during the allowed period of stay. A possible solution in this situation, in our view, could be the adoption of bills by Russia that would grant temporary residence permits to workers and their family members for the duration of the concluded labor contract," Zhaksylykov believes.

He also mentioned another pressing issue - the legalization of labor activity of workers and protection of their rights.

"It is important that citizens conduct labor activities in the country of employment on a legal basis," Zhaksylykov said.
