Mutual trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan reached $41.5 million in the 1Q2018, which is 1.8 times more compared to the 1Q2017, the press service of the Tajik Statistics Committee said on May 7.
Tajikistan primarily exports raw materials, as well as cement and quartz sand to Uzbekistan, whereas the country mainly imports from Uzbekistan finished products such as food and motor cars.
It was earlier reported that several banks of Uzbekistan had signed agreement with Tajik banks on supporting export of Uzbek enterprises to Tajikistan. According to the agreements, the Uzbek banks issued a total of $100 million worth loans to support local manufacturers.
