Reportedly, out of the total amount of funds, $28.5 million were given in national currency.

In November 2017, Uzbekistan made possible transfers in national currency with automatic conversion.

The Central Bank also noted increase in money transfers in soums, which is “an evidence of a decline in demand for cash in foreign currency”.

Since the beginning of 2018, $269.1 million have been sent from Uzbekistan, including $28.8 million being sent in soums.

The statistical data on money transfers are published by the Central Bank for the first time.
