Export prices for Kazakh barley, wheat decrease

In January-March 2018, prices for exported Kazakh goods increased by 0.7 percent and prices for imported goods increased by 1.5 percent, the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan said in a message.

Since the beginning of 2018, prices for exported Kazakh cotton have increased by 4 percent. The decrease in export prices was also observed for wool (by 1.8 percent), barley (by 1.6 percent), wheat by (0.9 percent).

Kazakhstan, totally, harvested 20.6 million tons of grain and leguminous crops at a yield of 13.4 c / ha in 2017, which is almost the same as during the season-2016.

Gross harvest of wheat in the country amounted to 14.8 million tons in 2017, which is only 1.2 percent less than previous year. At the same time, the average yield of Kazakh wheat in 2017 reached 12.4 c/ha, exceeding by 16 percent the average for the last 5 years.

Price on imported tobacco, in turn, increased by 22.9 percent, fish - by 2.4 percent, vegetables - by 2.3 percent, dairy products - by 1.7 percent. Coffee prices dropped by 5 percent, sugar - by 4.6 percent, cocoa - by 3.8 percent, poultry - by 1.7 percent, margarine - by 1.5 percent.
