Turkmenistan developing state pricing registry in construction sphere

Turkmenistan continues work on a state registry of indicative standards and prices in the construction sector, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.

The issue of developing “State program on development of a national estimate and regulatory framework and improvement of the pricing system in construction for 2018-2020” was mulled at the latest government meeting.

Also, an intersectoral commission that has developed documents stipulating preparation of a classifier for building materials, procedure for monitoring pricing in construction, and methodological documentation, based on which the state registry of indicative standards and prices in the construction sector will be created, was established.

To keep high rates of development of the construction sphere and ensure its efficient operation, it is necessary to pursue a prudent price policy on raw materials, which will allow to optimize the available capacities and increase the profitability of industry enterprises, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, the newspaper reported.

Presently, the construction sphere in the country is focused on implementation of large-scale state programs, including industrialization, creation of modern transport infrastructure, production of import-substituting products and increasing of the volume of export goods, housing construction, and transformation of regions.

As of January 2018, about 1,900 large facilities with a total value of about $47 billion are under construction in Turkmenistan, 1,800 of which are built by domestic companies.
