The members of Kazakh parliament held a meeting on May 28.
During the meeting, Kazakh MPs projected that the country’s income from the export of various types of meat may reach $2.4 billion in the near future.
Parliamentarians also agreed that Kazakhstan has a high export potential for meat and meat products.
According to different estimates, the volume of production of beef and mutton in Kazakhstan will soon increase from 600,000 tons to 1.6 million tons. The country has all the key factors for successful development of the meat industry - pasture lands, irrigated arable land and human resources.
In addition, a number of countries in Asia and the Middle East, including Iran, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam represent attractive export markets with a steady increase in beef imports. The two most important strategic partners of Kazakhstan - Russia and China are also major importers of meat.
