Turkey to develop domestic passenger aircraft (Exclusive)

Turkey will begin to develop domestic passenger aircraft, a source in the Turkish government told Trend on Tuesday.

As the source noted, Turkey is expected to create the first prototype of the domestic passenger aircraft by 2023 and to begin its production in 2033.

"Creating a domestic passenger aircraft is one of Turkey's priorities," the source added.

According to a report of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Turkey, in 2017, the civil aviation system of Turkey had 517 aircraft.

In 2017, Turkish Airlines (THY) had the biggest number of aircraft (304) in the civil aviation system of Turkey.
